Meet Christine Ann Stevens

I know what it means to be responsible for the number.

When the goal is ambitious and the support is thin, the distance between what is expected and what is possible can feel very large.

I built LOVE Fundraising, a Houston nonprofit fundraising consulting practice, to help organizations close that distance.

Experience on both sides of the capacity question

Good people need the conditions to do good work.

I’m Christine Ann Stevens, MBA, CFRE, SHRM-CP. Before moving into fundraising, I spent more than 20 years in sales and marketing leadership. That experience taught me to connect relationships, strategy, and daily work to revenue.

More than a decade in fundraising, including leadership roles with the Houston Symphony, Theatre Under The Stars, and River Oaks Chamber Orchestra, gave that work a philanthropic purpose. I have led development functions, built donor relationships, managed teams, and worked directly with CEOs and boards.

I learned from excellent fundraisers inside large, well-resourced organizations. I have also worked inside small teams where a handful of people carried an entire development program. Both experiences shaped the way I think about what an organization needs to succeed.

My MBA with a finance concentration informs the way I evaluate resources and growth. I care about what you want to accomplish, and whether your staffing, budget, and expectations give you a credible way to get there.

Why LOVE

You should be able to get help before you can fund every role.

Some organizations need experienced development leadership before they are ready for a full-time CDO. Others have capable staff who need direction, coaching, or additional hands. Some need their board to understand fundraising before a new leader can have a fair chance of succeeding.

LOVE makes that support available in useful forms: fractional leadership, outsourced capacity, assessment, executive search, department design, coaching, workshops, and direct board training.

We can work together to build readiness, strengthen an existing program, or tackle a specific challenge. The engagement begins with your circumstances.

Honest analysis.
Practical decisions.
Participation in the work.

You deserve a clear view of the opportunities in front of you and the resources they will require. I will help you ask useful questions, make deliberate choices, and follow through.

That is the thinking behind LOVE and my forthcoming book, For the LOVE of Fundraising: 99 Sparks for Doing the Work Differently.
